“The one thing that God requires in all of us . . . is faith. You see, faith is, ultimately, faith in the goodness of God—in His reliability, in His dependability—and without that faith in God’s goodness, we cannot please Him.”
In light of your need, your situation, your burden, can you put your faith in the Lord and His goodness? Psalm 31:19 tells us:
“Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You….”
We also learn from David in Psalm 27 about trusting in the Lord, His protector and deliverer. The entire Psalm is worth meditating upon, but he ends with these words from verses 13–14.:
“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage. And He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Remember, too, that it was the goodness of God that led us to repentance (see Rom. 2:4).
God is your heavenly Father who is merciful and kind and loves you more than you know. Focus on the Scriptures that tell about His goodness, and ask Him to help you simply believe.
Grace and peace to you,
